Frequently asked questions

What documents do I need to start my course?

A current UK provisional driving licence is the only essential requirement. You can apply for your provisional licence here: https://www.gov.uk/apply-first-provisional-driving-licence. If you apply online, the cost is £34.00. If you apply by post, it's £43.00. All the necessary information can be found on the gov.uk website.

Which course is right for me? can you help?

Absolutely! At Fast Pass Driving Courses, we just love to talk about all things driving. Call one of our friendly team on 0800 001 6417 and we’ll be happy to help.

Do you offer residential driving courses?

When booking a course with Fast Pass Driving Courses, you’ll be allocated a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor in your local area, so there will be no need for extra expenses such as hotel bills. In the rare event that we are unable to offer a course local to you, we may be able to arrange an alternative location and would also be happy to recommend low cost accommodation in the area. The cost of the accommodation is not included in the driving course.

Do I need to pass my theory test before my driving course?

Ideally, we recommend that you hold a valid theory test certificate, as without this, we are unable to book your practical driving test. If you’re keen to get started prior to passing your theory test, then we won’t hold you back! Just be aware that this will mean your course cannot be completed in the normal time frame we would expect.

Do you offer any 'guaranteed pass' courses?

A popular myth, but there really is no such thing as a guaranteed pass. As the DVSA practical driving test is conducted independently by a DVSA examiner, there is no actual way to ‘guarantee’ you’ll pass. However, when booking your driving course with Fast Pass Driving Courses, you’re assured high quality driving tuition with an instructor experienced at delivering intensive driving courses, therefore ensuring you’re as prepared as possible for the test day!

Is it really possible to pass my driving test in one week?

It sure is! If you know the basics, our 30-hour course would be suitable. If you’re a part-trained learner, then our 15-hour course may be best. Just call us on 0800 001 6417 for some expert advice.

Can I speak to my driving instructor before I book the course?

As we don't know which driving instructor will be allocated to your driving course until the deposit is paid and the course is confirmed, we can't put you in touch with the instructor prior to booking. However don't worry – the team at Fast Pass Driving Courses are fully qualified DVSA Approved Driving Instructors, so whatever question you may have, we’re sure to have the answer!

The court has ordered me to sit an extended driving test. Can I do an intensive driving course?

Most definitely! There will be an extra charge of £62.00 added to the deposit you pay at the time of booking, which covers the higher extended practical test fee.

Can I buy a fast pass driving course as a gift for family or friends?

What a great gift idea, and of course, the answer is yes! We will even send you a gift voucher, for you to present to the lucky learner. Just let us know at the time of booking so we can make sure we have all the correct details.

I'm a student. Do you offer any discounts for students?

Currently, there are no discounts available for students. However, we’re confident that our prices are incredibly competitive, so you may find even with other companies offering student discounts, we’re still providing some of the best value intensive driving courses around.

Can I pay in instalments?

We will always try to accommodate any such requests – just call one of the team on 0800 001 6417 and we’ll be pleased to talk about the options available to you.

Can I learn to drive in an automatic car?

Yes, you can! All our fast pass driving courses are available in both manual and automatic tuition.

Why are the automatic driving courses more expensive than the manual driving courses?

An easy one to answer – automatic cars are more expensive to buy than manual cars, so the driving instructor will always charge a higher rate to cover their additional costs.

Will following a Sat Nav be included in the courses?

Independent driving is an exercise you’ll have to carry out on your driving test. This could be following directions from a sat nav or following traffic signs. Your allocated driving instructor will certainly ensure you’re fully prepared for this extra challenge.

I'm interested in the Pass Plus scheme. Is this something you can offer?

Many driving instructors are Pass Plus registered, so be sure to ask your instructor if you’re interested in this.
